On August 21 and August 23, 2012 in the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Russian Federation there was an agitation of the draft of the Federal Law “On Amendments to Part One, Two, Three, and Four of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation and Certain Legislative Acts of the Russian Federation” adopted by the State Duma in a first reading on April 27, 2012.
The meeting was organized by the Ministry with the support of Legal Insight Magazine in fulfillment of the order of the President of the Russian Federation to receive appraisal of amendments to the civil legislation on the part of entrepreneurial community and to work out proposals oriented to the draft improvement.
R.A. Kokorev, Deputy Director of the Corporate Governance Department of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Russian Federation, and Maxim Bunyakin, Branan Managing partner, were the moderators of the discussion.
The hottest debates were held on the following topics: the problem of affiliation criteria, matters of controllers’ responsibility, limits of corporate agreement freedom, matters of state registration of legal entities, etc. Judges of the Supreme Arbitration Court of the Russian Federation, representatives of the Codification Council, representatives of large companies and employees of Russian and foreign law firms took part in the debates.
