Director of Corporate Practice Branan Legal Julia Nenasheva took part in the round-table ‘Development of the Russian Practice of the Corporate Governance: Test for Strength’

On June 28, 2016 the round-table ‘Development of the Russian Practice of the Corporate Governance: Test for Strength’ took part, organized by the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation and the SRO National Association of Corporate Directors.

The Director of Corporate Practice of Branan Legal Julia Nenasheva took floor with a relevant topic ‘Mechanisms for Disclosure of Information in Public Russian Companies’. In particular, Julia raised the issue of transfer to the information disclosure system on the principle of materiality and not on the formal grounds.

The following issues were also discussed during the round-table:

1. Is the directive effectiveness possible? Burning problems of the corporate governance in the public sector
2. Will the transfer of power take place? Is the second generation of the Russian owners ready to take responsibility for the parents’ business?
3. Where are the transparency limits? Changes in the regulation of information disclosure, reporting on compliance with the Corporate Governance Code

The Managing Directors and the Members of the Board of Directors of the Russian and foreign companies, representatives of domestic business and expert community, federal and regional authorities took part in the event.
